The Paper presents statistics on road expenditure by State and Territory, by level of government, by year and by Commonwealth road funding category. A consistent series of road expenditure statistics and information on State road revenue was first presented in BTE Information Paper 3, Australian Road Financing Statistics 1970–71 to 1979–80. The statistics were updated in BTE Information Paper 11 and BTE Information Paper 14. This Paper provides statistics for 1983–84 and earlier years. Some of the statistics for earlier years have been revised.

In 2002, the ATC approved a set of 6 targets and indicators to measure performance improvements of the interstate rail track over time. Early reports against the indicators were derived entirely from track managers' (below rail) datasets. An ARA survey of train operators (above rail) reporting on key performance indicators showed that results from track managers' datasets were, for some indicators, inconsistent with results based on rail operators' data. There are distinct reporting methodologies between above and below rail.

Results for 2006–07 are reported against a set of 11 railway indicators. These are in three groups: three train indicators, four track indicators and four market indicators.

This report covers monthly punctuality and reliability data of major domestic and regional airlines operating between Australian airports. Details are published for individual airlines on competitive routes and for airports on those routes.

Publication of monthly Domestic Airline On Time Performance statistics was suspended from April 2020 to December 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19 related travel restrictions on activity levels and to reduce the reporting burden on airlines during that period.
