This is the third consecutive monthly year-on-year decline, following the decreases recorded in April 2026 and May 2026. Prior to these recent declines, the last monthly year-on-year decrease occurred in October 2021 (COVID).
Passenger traffic for the year ended June 2026 was 45.647 million which is a 6.1% increase over the figure for the year ended June 2025 (43.011 million).
Total seats made available on international scheduled operations to/from Australia during June 2026 were 4.297 million – a decrease of 0.5% compared to June 2025. The overall seat utilisation percentage was 81.0% in June 2026. It was 81.6% in June 2025 and 82.1% in June 2024.
